Between 1989 to 1991 Gabi Tolkowsky and a specialist team, including his son Jean Paul Tolkowsky were commissioned by De Beers to cut two exceptionally large rough diamonds.

Over three years the team cut and and polished these gems that still hold the record today for being two of the largest and most exceptional faceted diamonds in the world.
